CareerBuilder Now Powering Online Career Center for Sales and Marketing Management

Survey Shows One-Third of Sales and Marketing Professionals Plan to Change Jobs in 2003

CHICAGO, April 15, 2003 - CareerBuilder, the smarter recruitment resource for finding better candidates and jobs, announced it was selected to power the new online career center for Sales and Marketing Management magazine's Web site, SalesandMarketing.com. Sales and marketing executives visiting the site can search for job opportunities from more than 25,000 of the nation's top companies. They can also use the site to target the right job candidates through filtered job postings.

The partnership is well-timed as a recent CareerBuilder survey found one-third of sales and marketing professionals said they are likely to change jobs this year. Of those surveyed, the top three resources used most often to find a job are networking, national career Web sites and classified ads in newspapers.

"CareerBuilder is seeing strong growth in the sales and marketing job category," said Mary Delaney, chief sales officer of CareerBuilder. "We have seen our job postings increase by 27 percent and job searches nearly double for sales and marketing positions in the last six months."

"More than 36,735 unique visitors come to SalesandMarketing.com each month for the latest information on career development, sales strategies, business trends and more," said Geraldine Fitzgerald, publisher of Sales and Marketing Management. "Adding a recruitment leader like CareerBuilder to our community of resources means our visitors can network with cream-of-the-crop candidates and companies across the country. This translates to greater reach and greater return for our visitors."

CareerBuilder combines the distribution power of online and print through CareerBuilder.com and the 130 newspapers of partners Gannett Co., Tribune Company and Knight Ridder to help bring job seekers and employers together.

"Sales and Marketing Management and CareerBuilder work well together because both companies are about promoting best practices - whether you're closing a deal or closing an interview," said Delaney. "Extending our market reach through Sales and Marketing Management's Web site, SalesandMarketing.com, brings more opportunity and more possibilities to job seekers, employers and recruiters in this important job category."

Viewers at SalesandMarketing.com can take advantage of CareerBuilder's smart online products such as the confidential Personal Search Agent that hunts for job opportunities in expressed areas of interest. When the Personal Search Agent locates relevant job matches, it then automatically emails them to job seekers. Also available is CareerBuilder's skilled and hourly product, which enables workers to apply for hourly jobs by indicating their work preferences, education and experience. Interested employers simply review the applications and contact qualified candidates. In addition, the site gives job seekers the choice to search by industry, location and job type, and provides online career assessments, coaching for interviews and tips for salary negotiations.

Survey Methodology
The new CareerBuilder survey, "Men and Women at Work," was conducted from March 20 to March 27, 2003 of more than 1,300 full-time salaried and hourly workers. To collect data for the survey, CareerBuilder commissioned SurveySite to use an e-mail methodology whereby individuals who are members of SurveySite Web Panel were randomly selected and approached by e-mail invitation to participate in the online survey. The results of this survey are accurate within +/- 2.7 percent.
