CareerBuilder Acquires Broadbean to Bring Exciting New Recruitment Technologies to Global Markets

CHICAGO – April 1, 2014CareerBuilder announced today that it is acquiring Broadbean, a leader in job distribution, candidate sourcing and big data analytics software. The latest step in CareerBuilder’s evolution as the premiere HR Software as a Service (SaaS) provider, the acquisition will bring recruiters and HR managers a faster, more convenient and more cost-effective way to acquire talent.

CareerBuilder purchased Broadbean from Daily Mail and General Trust plc for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition unites two technology companies who have made it their business to change the game for recruitment. CareerBuilder specializes in talent management software and deep labor market intelligence that can tell employers anything they need to know about talent supplies, compensation and local workforce dynamics. The company has a presence in more than 60 markets around the world and operates the largest online job board in the U.S.

Broadbean posts jobs on more than 6,000 job boards and social networks in 183 countries and has more than 60,000 users. The company distributes more than 2 million jobs and generates more than 10 million job applications each month. Broadbean uses one interface to seamlessly search across various resume databases and, like CareerBuilder, offers powerful analytics around sourcing candidates and hires.

“CareerBuilder is excited to expand our portfolio and continue the rapid growth of our global HR SaaS operation,” said Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder. “With the addition of Broadbean, we are the unparalleled leader in unifying the recruiter experience in one pre-hire platform. Clients will benefit from broader job distribution and one simple workflow to manage all external and internal sources for candidates. Broadbean’s robust technologies complement our product offerings as we deliver a more intuitive, data-driven talent acquisition experience for our clients.”

“CareerBuilder is an industry giant and shares Broadbean’s passion for developing innovative SaaS products that raise the bar for recruitment,” said Kelly Robinson, CEO of Broadbean. “Leveraging our combined assets, we can deliver recruitment insights and services that employers have not seen before.”

“Being acquired by CareerBuilder gives Broadbean a wider global footprint for our platform and new possibilities for our product sets,” said Dan Martin, Managing Director of Broadbean EMEA. “Working together, we have a fantastic opportunity to redefine what it means to have a competitive edge in recruitment.”
