Careerbuilder.com Launches Government Solutions Group
Survey Shows One-in-Five Government Workers Plan to Change Jobs This Year
CHICAGO, April 26, 2004 - CareerBuilder.com, the leading online recruitment resource with more than 15 million unique visitors and over 400,000 jobs, announced the launch of its Government Solutions Group. The group is designed to deliver specialized recruitment solutions to federal, state and local agencies and organizations.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is projecting that state and local government employment will increase by 13.4 percent between 2002 and 2012. Federal government employment is also projected to rise.
"With the government adding more jobs and the retirement rate for its employees expected to escalate, agencies and organizations are focused on ensuring they have a quality pool of candidates to fill open positions," said Farhan Yasin, Vice President of Business Development for CareerBuilder.com. "Through our extensive network of more than 350 newspaper and association partners, our new Government Solutions Group delivers comprehensive recruitment solutions and access to millions of job seekers to help these agencies and organizations find the best candidates."
The launch of CareerBuilder.com's new Government Solutions Group comes at a good time as government hiring managers are facing more immediate employment challenges in 2004. One-in-five government employees recently surveyed by CareerBuilder.com said they plan to change jobs this year due to job dissatisfaction and better prospects associated with an improving economy. One half said they are dissatisfied with pay, the same amount voicing dissatisfaction with opportunities for career advancement.
To find better job opportunities, government workers surveyed by CareerBuilder.com said they primarily use newspaper classifieds, online career sites, internal job postings and Web sites of professional organizations or associations.
To help government hiring managers target candidates with the most relevant skills and experience, CareerBuilder.com offers easy job postings, over 9 million resumes, career fairs and profiles of skilled and hourly workers. CareerBuilder.com also offers employers a vast distribution network. Owned by Tribune Company, Gannett and Knight Ridder, CareerBuilder.com features jobs from the classifieds sections of more than 130 newspapers. Including its newspaper affiliations, CareerBuilder.com powers the career sites for more than 350 partners with over 1,200 Web sites reaching national, local, industry and niche audiences. These partners include leading portals such as America Online and MSN.
