CareerBuilder.com Launches New National Recruitment Product For Qualified Skilled and Hourly Workers
Simple Four-Step Process Enables Workers to Find Available Hourly Jobs And Employers to Identify Qualified Candidates
CHICAGO, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- CareerBuilder, the industry's most
complete recruitment resource for efficiently finding better candidates and
jobs, today announced the launch of a new national recruitment product to
connect employers to qualified skilled and hourly workers. Workers can
sign-up online at CareerBuilder.com or via phone and apply for hourly jobs by
indicating their work preferences, education and experience. By tapping into
CareerBuilder.com's skilled and hourly resume database, employers can quickly
identify those candidates that meet their hourly job requirements based on
this pre-interview process, saving time and effort in the initial screening
process.
"Eighty-five percent of skilled and hourly workers use classified
newspaper ads when searching for a job," said Matt Ferguson, CareerBuilder
chief operating officer. "With a market presence in more than 130 newspapers,
this is the first national combined newspaper and online recruitment product
launched for this important employment category. In leveraging the print and
online bandwidth of CareerBuilder, Gannett, Knight Ridder and Tribune Company
will maintain their leadership positions in this category."
"For most workers, seeking an hourly job involves first finding the job
opening and then personally applying for the job at the physical company
location," said Ferguson. "Our new skilled and hourly recruitment product
provides workers with a smarter way to apply for their ideal job, providing
them with the ability to pre-interview for jobs in the category that most
interests them - all in four easy steps - online or via phone."
Online at CareerBuilder.com or via phone at 888-808-jobs (5627), workers
select job categories such as customer service/call center, healthcare,
hotel/hospitality, office administration/clerical, restaurant/food service,
retail, sales, skilled labor, manufacturing, construction and general
labor/other. They can apply for hourly jobs in their area using up to five
different profiles. Skilled and hourly workers will be able to control their
profile's privacy and confidentiality as they are building it. This also
streamlines searches for employers by quickly matching profiles to specific
positions.
This new skilled and hourly recruitment product from CareerBuilder builds
upon two successful hourly products introduced by Gannett's newspapers in
Cincinnati and Tribune Company in six markets. In April, The Cincinnati
Enquirer, The Cincinnati Post and Cincinnati.com launched Cincinnati JobMatch,
its job-finding service for hourly, non-exempt positions. Beginning in
August, Tribune Company began testing a prototype product, called
CareerBuilder Connect, in six of its 11 newspaper markets including:
Baltimore, Chicago, Hartford, Los Angeles, Orlando and South Florida. The
profiles amassed by Tribune's CareerBuilder Connect will be transferred to
CareerBuilder.com's hourly product.
